Italian Villa Retreats
When I started the “I’m Moving To Italy” podcast several years ago, I discovered a whole community of people interested in the same version of Italy that I was – the version I call “Real Italy.”
A quick Google search will provide you with a list of tour companies that shuffle millions of tourists annually from one major tourist site to the next by cruise ship or tour bus.
These big tour companies offer a plethora of so-called “authentic Italian experiences” which typically include wine tasting, pasta making, and even grape stomping.
Unfortunately, these so-called “authentic Italian experiences” are anything but.
“I believe the only way to get a true sense of what life in Italy actually feels like is to live, in a part of Italy where tourists don’t typically don’t visit, like a local”
Italy Like A Local
I believe the only way to get a true sense of what life in Italy actually feels like is to live, for at least a short time in a part of Italy where tourists don’t typically visit, like a local.
There’s nothing like having the proprietor of a local pastry shop or coffee bar smile in recognition when you walk through the door, and ask you if you want “your usual”, to make you realize you’re experiencing “Real Italy”.
The feeling you get when you know where to find the pasta at your local grocery store or when you know exactly what dish you’re going to order (for the third time) at your new favorite Trattoria cannot be replicated in any other way than to have a “home” in Italy for an extended period.
That’s why we have methodically curated a collection of villas and estates across Italy that provide our guests with an experience that will leave them forever changed, being a “local” in the heart of “real Italy”.
Gather Your Own Group
While we do host several small-group retreats, that are open to the public, in the spring and fall each year, we have found that our clients often prefer to put together their own private groups with their nearest and dearest.
Whether it’s an intimate gathering of 8 lifelong friends, who love traveling together, or a family group of up to 40 people celebrating an anniversary or milestone birthday – our private villa retreats allow you to set your own date, location, and itinerary.
Everything is customizable from private Italian cooks, drivers, guides, translators, and other household staff.
Choose Your Own Date
While we highly recommend the Spring and Fall months to visit Italy due to fewer crowds, great weather, and better prices, some of our clients prefer a holiday ski retreat at a chalet in the Italian Alps or a summer island getaway while the kids are out of school.
Whatever your preference, and no matter how long you want to stay at your villa, we have endless options that will be perfect for you and your loved ones.
Choose Your Own Villa
If you’ve been to Italy many times and are looking for something super private and off the beaten path or if this is your first trip and you want to be within reach of more well-known locations for convenient day excursions – we have solutions for your exact requirements.
If you feel overwhelmed and unsure of where to start, my small team of Italian locals and I would love to chat with you and figure out your perfect villa location.
Regardless of what you’re looking for, there’s a fabulous villa with your name on it just waiting for us to connect you with it and put together the perfect team of cooks, drivers, and house staff to ensure you have the most wonderful Italian vacation imaginable.
